I have a less powerful version of this in my Miata track car

http://www.batterytender.com/Batteri...t-Battery.html

Summit sells them

there are 300, 360, 480 CCA versions

Deltran says to use their Junior charger or the newer "high efficiency" one

my 300 CCA version weighs 1.6 pounds, saving over 20# off stock AGM battery

could use two of them in parallel for a vette and be less than 5 #

Looks like a sweet battery.

My question/concern about these batteries is the max charging rate (10A according to the link), and what durability issues that may happen when a high amperage automotive alternator is used to charge these things.

Mine is laying flat using a box that you can buy from Braille. Made it clean and easy to do. The box had padding in it so that vibration is dampened.

They say vibration isn't a worry with AGM batteries. But I'm sure it's better safe than sorry

That is true indeed, but I've seen some half assed setups where the battery rubs on the mount, yanks on cables, or other equally bad things. The Braille box really secures the battery in a way where you don't need to worry about any of that.
