Default Yes.

The LS6 manifolds are thinner wall for better flow and lighter weight. LS6 improvements over the LS1 included better intake, cam, valve springs, exhaust manifolds, higher compression....

Any manifold from 2001+ is the same as a C5 ZO6 manifold!

YES, there is a difference. The 2001+ (C5 ZO6) intake manifold has a bigger PLENUM VOLUME! and flows a little better.

NOTE! Don't expect a significant HP/Tq increase on a stock LS1 engine! Its an improvement that COMPLEMENTS other engine modifications!! Like better heads, bigger cam, headers, etc.... On a STOCK LS engine, you may see 5-10 HP.

Stock LS1 intake under side plenum floor:

LS6/2001 LS1 intake manifold increased plenum size floor:

The LS6 has a bigger cam, more compression,, better exhaust manifolds and mufflers and bigger injectors (than most early c5s) and a slightly different tune which contributes to the higher HP.

From what I found, the '97-'00 exhaust manifolds were redesigned and the '01-'04 exhaust manifolds are the same whether they are LS6 or LS1.

The later ones look like they are a much better design that looks like shorty headers and I have read some reports that they perform pretty well.

Pictures in the following links.

WOOPS!! I thought you said INTAKE,

The newer manifolds will need to have the mid pipe from that year.

Note Some midpipes have PUP Cats. The 2001 ZO6 had pup cats. The 02+ did NOT.

I have an 2002 coupe and was thinking about installing shorty headers. My mid pipe has pup cats. I have a mid pipe w/Xpipe from a 1998 convertible. Was looking at them to swap out but they don't look like they are compatible. Any thoughts or suggestions?

IT WONT FIT! My buddy has a 2000 coupe and I gave him my old ZO6 exhaust system. Just for fun we tried to use his 2000 mid pipe on the ZO6 manifolds. The pipe opening did not line up with the manifolds.

Unless you live in CA and have no other choice, you will not gain much installing shorty headers. They look nice but dont live up to long tube headers.

I remember when they were selling for $1200. way back in 98-99

I think he did an edit, either saying intake or actually what I think what he said was simply "manifold", as I started to reply regarding the intake also.

I just did the C6 Z06 manlifolds, cats, H Pipe ( I live in California ) I love it! Beefed up the found, revs better, and picked up some good power over my 4 cats! Took a little H pipe moding to go from 3in to 2.5in, but the exhaust shop did it for 60$!
