O.K. I'm getting ready to swap out the gears but noticed no mention of what to do with the electronic brake and traction control module located just behind the differential in any of the DIY articles on gear swapping. There are several metal tube screw fittings going into this thing that is hard as @^ll to get to. Tell me all I have to do is remove the mounting bolts to this thing and just tie it up somewhere  With the module remaining in place, will this still allow enough room to maneveur the torque tube/tranny, rear assembly down and back to disengage the drive shaft up front  This was probably already addressed somewhere but I'm too lazy to search right now
Re: Traction Control Module Removal for Gear Swap?? (MikeyD)
Just unbolt the two brackets that hold it to the cradle and tie it up. I think it was 3 bolts on each bracket. I just put a clutch in my 98 and that was what I had to do. It will be close but it will work. Just let down and pull back on the driveline assy. in small increments. You may be able to get your dealer to let you look at the service manuals if you need any help. That was what I did.
Re: Traction Control Module Removal for Gear Swap?? (Nick Williams)
I have a service manual that says to do just what you said...unbolt it from the bracket and hang it out of the way. But the manual also shows a different way to lower the cradle. I just wondered how much clearance is needed behind the differential to slide the whole thing back for the drive shaft to clear in the front. I know from talk and what the manual says, there is some criticality to how far you can angle the rear of the driveline down before causing some damage.
