The stock ones are high dollar! No performance gain, strictly a longer lasting plug. I changed mine to the NGK TR 55's the chosen plug by the guys on the forum for stock motors. $1.60 or so at O'Riellys Auto. You might take one out to see if the platinum puck is missing. All 8 of mine were and only had 37K miles, replaced the wires to with Magnecor. :yesnod:
Actually the inverse is true. The more you spend on a plug, the less performance you will get. What your buying when you pay more is for longevity, with a sacrifice in performance.
Does this mean that these TR 55's would increase my performance over my stock ones(27,000 miles). How do worn out s plugs affect performance? Can someone lead me to directions for changing plugs? Sorry, I'm just now learning about cars. Thanks
You should take a plug out to see if the platinum puck is still there, if not the gap will be .065 or so, way too big. Sign to change is at hand, you will only see an increase if the plugs are past there prime. :yesnod: If the plugs are worn you will get a slight miss at idle or worse. No, they just insure you dont loose any performance. Plugs do not make HP.
