replacing automatic shifter cable
I am in the process of replacing the shifter cable in my C5. I am not able to have the car put on a lift so I am not able to remove the exhaust and tunnel plate. I am trying to replace the cable through the console area. Is there a way to get the cable placed in the top bracket behind where the shifter is? I am able to get to the bottom of the cable and replace that section, but I am having difficulty replacing the top section.

Did you check the archives? On an old broken shifter post someone told how they fished the new cable in without removing the tunnel plate or exhaust.

Working without a lift C5
I photo the hell outta this car.
These are last year, taking it out of storage and replacing the shifter cable. JACK STANDS is all I use.
Only time she gets to a lift is either alignment, or the nice guys at the local exhaust shop humor the cranky old guy and they like to put her up for me to inspect quickly.
