Are you going with a Comp Cams Trunion upgrade or different rockers?

Good find!

Run a magnetic drain plug and eventually, you will collect any or all the pins that entered the oil pan.

I am going to install replacements and then after a few weeks do the Trunion upgrade. Most likely will order the kit Monday.

Any need to upgrade to LS7 rockers while in there?

if it was already busted apart like that I would change the oil to make sure there aren't any needle bearings floating around inside your engine

Once they enter the pan,, there pretty much going to stay where they are at. The pan has shallow ribbed trays and once a pin settles into a tray,, its pretty much going to stay where its at.

If you install a magnetic drain plug, if any migrate as a result of acceleration or high G Force turns or going up hill, the magnet will retain it.

You could use a powerful magnet and run it under the pan and maybe pull any stray pins towards the drain plug.

The magnet will is your best bet.

I thought about doing that. Will go ahead and give that a shot.

This was on the passenger side, when I do the driver side for will I need to disconnect any fuel lines? I have an A&A secondary system.

Ive replaced the heads and cam and intake manifold on my zo6 and I have NEVER disconnected the fuel line.

I just remove the four screws that hold it to the intake and pop the injectors out of the manifold.

Then I cover the windshield with cardboard and flop the fuel rail assy upside down on the covered windshield.

Its out of the way and still connected.

The same thing happened to me. It was #7 on the driver's side. I bought the Comp Cams upgrade but haven't done it yet. That's a good over the Winter project. My car has a 7# supercharger boost.

Mine was on #6. I always thought it sounded weird and people said it was the Cam and springs but, I am not convinced the rocker was going bad.

If you have a 2 piece pan, take the bottom off. It's not hard.
If not, oh well.

Those needles shouldn't be able to get past the oil pickup screen.

I would drop the lower (batwing) part of the pan. Easy to do and wash it out properly. JMO. Oops seen that idea has been already mentioned. Yeah and you may not have a 2 piece oil pan... blah blah..lol Meh.. you will get it sorted out. It's not like you cracked a piston.
