intake manifold
What material is the intake manifold made from? Can it be powder coated? Has anyone tried this? Any ideas on improving the looks of this ugly black center piece.

Re: intake manifold (fredm)
It's a composite (plastic) material. Some members have painted their's. Below is a shot of one member's painted intake.

Re: intake manifold (fredm)
The intake in the above pic was done at a paint shop but I would imagine that the standard prep/materials were used for parts exposed to moderate heat. Solvent-based wipe-down to eliminate oils/contaminants and high temp (maybe flex-based) primer and paint.

I don't know if they can be powder coated or not. I do know that they are heated to about 500 degrees in the process though.
