I clean mine but I don't remove it. Just have someone inside of the car, turn car to "on" position and have them press down the gas pedal and the blade will open. You can clean it from there (after removing the air bridge of course)
I remove mine to clean it.Also a good time to do the coolant bypass if you haven't done it already.Makes future cleanings a whole lot easier!
I pondered the idea of doing the coolant by-pass thing but...I also drive my car in winter once or twice a week to keep fluids circulated ( clean roads only ) so I was wondering if it would have any effect on anything ?
I didn't do the bypass for any expected power gain.I did it to simplify the removal of the throttle body.I drive mine just about year round and have never had an issue with it.
