Default 2001 emergency brake

The emergency brake on my 2001 30k mile manual does not hold.
Weekend car.
Is the lining gone? Is there any adjustment?
Newby started driving at first with the brake still on a few times.
Are there any special tools required?
Is there a Utube showing necessary work?
tnx

There is an adjustment but the rear rotors have to come off to get to it.Alot of them weren't adjusted very good from the factory.

Google "C5 Corvette parking brake adjustment" (it's a parking brake) and you can get pictures and tips on how to adjust.

PS: If the cable is a little loose causing it not to hold (handle lifts all the way up without holding) you can cycle the handle to the top and then release then repeat several times. It will self adjust slightly the slack in the cable. Doesn't hurt anything to try first.

Be careful pulling off the drum, there is a spring under shoes that if popped off it is a pain to get back on. If you adjust shoes to tight and try and pull drum back off this is when I pulled mine off. The shoes work just like the old drum brakes that U had to adjust out so the shoes meet the drum. Good luck
