LMC5 Column Lock fix - GREAT!
I know this has been hashed over a ton but this is just an amazing fix. My 97 had the GM fix and I thought I was OK. Slowly I had the steady infamous 10 Second Pull Key Start happening and then wham the 2 mph limit. Luckily it happened in my driveway. Of course accolades go out to you all here for sharing this knowledge on all the tweaks that GM had with these cars. I had read the as I call the before you buy "Warning" Sticky so immediately knew about some LMC Thang. Looked it up then called Richard who is a wealth of knowledge and just super Professional at Compliance Parts and had it up and running in minutes after getting the part. Love it when an enthusiast small business company comes up with a great product.
Just a rant after Obama State of Union. He just does not get it or lives on a different planet. He thinks a small business is a company just smaller than Walmart. Real small business companies like Compliance Parts are what make America strong. Not his Post Presidency Golden Parachute crony companies .

Could not agree with you more.....he never had a real job.....and, Richard is a wealth of knowledge and a "good guy" with a good product. Install and forget the problem.

I bought a beautiful 99 coupe in early May last year (2014) which had 50,000 miles on it. I drove it home which was a little over 50 mi. the first thing the mpg reading stayed around 34 mpg. WOW !!! I got home and before I put it in the garage i decided to wash off the bugs, went to start it and the column lock message came on it and of course it didn't start. I messed around with it for an hour and thought there was no way I wanted to leave the car out the first night I had it. (I have 25 yrs in Gm dealership as a mech) I found this site and found the cure and fixed it no problem since. I have been on this site every day since and I have to thank all of you for all the info and such on this site, Thank You !!!!
