Ok stupid question, but I just got my new 01 Z06 /w 4200 miles, yay!, but I have noticed that whenever I turn the car off and then come back and turn it on, that the CD that was in there starts from the beginning again instead of the place where it left off when I shut off the car. Make sense? Any ideas? Does this have to do with the memory package in some way?
That's not normal, but there are lots of other annoying things the CD player does/doesn't do. For example, if the unit is off, and you insert a CD, the CD plays. So far, so good. Now, if you eject the CD, for some reason the player thinks you want to listen to the radio instead of reverting to what it was doing before you inserted the CD. Also, the antenna should be smart enough to stay down (I guess this only applies to vert owners) when you're playing a CD. Furthermore, the display is a joke - I have a better display on my ten year old microwave. Wasn't GM using this display almost 20 years ago.....there's more than a little room for improvement there....I'd like the option of seeing track number or radio station in addition to the clock....and a simple power on indicator would be nice since I sometimes choose to turn the volume all the way down instead of shutting it off because of the less than intelligent antenna.
OK, sorry for the rant. To swing from the other side for a second, I am happy with the sound quality for a stock unit - no, it doesn't even come close to the $2500 system I have in my other car, but it's loud enough to hear with the top down at 80mph and doesn't make your ears bleed (not immediately, anyway).
