I've got a 1999 A4 vert and it has minor fire damage to both o2 sensor harnesses due to a small fire which occurred from oil getting onto the headers. I haven't found a complete front main harness from the exact year and specific model to purchase one and I'm currently looking for an experienced wiring guru to repair the harness .
Here's the question : What years and models will work on my vehicle ? The complete harness contains the wiring harnesses for the injectors, MAP, Mass air flow, AIT, alt., starter wiring, and a few more sensor harnesses.
If it were me, I would just splice in new wiring starting from where you have good undamaged wiring in the harness. Would just need new connectors and looks like one lug. I would use solder and heat shrink tubing to make it as good as new.
I can provide the wiring info/colors and pin outs for the connectors. Otherwise, if you want a replacement harness contact Marc at VetteNuts.com.
We may can help you with a donor harness. I can cut you off what you need to replace. I can see from the pics the starter and 02. What else got burned?

Everything else is in good shape. There was a small fire on the headers due to a pushed valve cover gasket as a result of burning a piston. If I didn't have a fire extinguisher the car would have burnt to the ground.....
I would work with Marc. If you need help with the splicing I can walk you through that over the phone.
Awesome, thx. I'm gonna try to sub this project out. The last thing I need is an electrical gremlin. The cars going thru a complete makeover and I can't have any unnecessary or avoidable issues.
Whether you Sub it out or do it your self,,, If you don't have the correct connectors and gage wire, it will never work correctly.
If it were ME,,, I would tap Marc for the correct harness or even a partial harness.
If you have someone else repair it, how will you know it done with all the correct stuff?
Just provide them the harness or part harness with the correct wires and parts and you will have a better chance of a proper repair.

That seems to be the general consensus. I spoke with Marc and I'm going to ship it his way tomorrow for his services.
I would not pull the motor just to look. I would get a boroscope camera. To find a hole in the firewall all you need is a simple one which are very inexpensive.
