Default Tac Module and PCM Advice

I was wondering what is the best way to clean the PCM and TAC Module? Also, what are yall doing to prevent your PCM and TAC Module from getting wet? I know its located in the fenderwell on the passenger side, not a great place at all so would it be safe to cover the PCM and Tac Module with a plastic bag to help from getting wet in the future? I'm not sure if the PCM gets hot or anything while driving so I just wanna be sure this is a safe idea.

The reason I am asking is because this morning when I started my car to leave for work I got a message on the DIC that said Reduced Engine Power and Service Traction Control along with codes p1516 and c1287. The car idled really high, about 1200 rpms or so but I did not even attempt to drive the car at this point. I turned the car off, waited a few minutes, started the car once again and idle was back to normal, message went away but my Check Engine came on. I cleared the codes, went for a 15 minute drive, about 6 miles in total and the car has been running fine since. No codes or lights have came back on so far.

I will mention that yesterday, my car sat out in the rain for about 8 hours. We got a lot of rain and while it wasn't a heavy downpour, it was constant from the moment I got in for work until the time I clocked out. I did research the forum as well, gained a lot of knowledge about this and the possible causes and solutions so I'm pretty aware about it now.

This is what I did, I also used dielectric grease on the seals only on the harnes connectors. This is from a previous thread I had on much the same problem. I didn't dind any moisture in the PCM harness connectors.
Have not had an issue since. Hope Mr. Murphy isn't listening.
Problem turned out to be water in the TAC module plugs. Why on Gods green earth did GM put those modules in the right wheel well? The plugs also had a rinky dink plastic cover over them from what I could see all they do is fill up with water when it gets wet. Cleaned and dried the connections and siliconed the backs of the plugs where the wires enter the plugs to keep the water out. Also siliconed the cover edges in the wheel well and under the car. Wanted to get some time and miles on the repair before I posted the fix. Has been running great since this repair. Thanks for the help.

I didn't think about using silicon on the connectors,I will definitely try this out when I get time to mess with it again. Seems like it would help alot with the water. First time this happened to me since I've had the car, hopefully it doesn't get any worse, knock on wood!
