c5 clutch adjustment
I have a 6 speed stick c5 coupe ('98). Seems like I have to let clutch out fairly far to engage each gear. Is this normal....can clutch distance be adjusted on this model?? There is no typical chatter going into gear, and all runs well otherwise. Thanks...Rick

Engaging at the "top" is a good thing. I believe as the clutch wears you will have to push further down to disengage. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me!
Are you new to the car or did you get a new clutch installed recently? I have a new clutch and it, too, engages close to the top, with a little play.
I don't believe these clutches can be adjusted, as they are hydraulic, iirc.

I believe he is saying he has to depress the clutch pedal further than he expects should be required to shift properly. This would indicate clutch wear. Or he may not know what the normal expected throw should be. I suggest he drive another C5 and see for comparison.
