Default Coolant routing with heatercore removed

I recently removed all of my heating and cooling parts from my track only c5. I am a little confused as how best to reroute the hoses. I first bought the u shaped hose and looped the ports around then caped off the two bottom lines going into the coolant tank. Only to realize that I had no way to fill the coolant system.

My second option was to run the hoses from the bottom of the coolant tank to the outlets on the water pump. I currently have the car set up that way. I brought the car up to temp with that setup with no problems but due to installing a new cam shaft I haven't been able to run the car in that configuration other than idling.

I am heading to the dyno Monday for a retune. Will the configuration I am running now work or will I need to switch back to my first setup? Any help and input is greatly appreciated!

The 3/4" hose needs to go to expansion tank, 5/8" hose can be capped off

Your second option is how I ran my LS1 Miata. Never had any overheating issues.
