turn key, nothing happens.

turn key, nothing happens.
why is the following happening?
i get in my 98 coupe auto. insert key, turn to start, NOTHING> nothing at all. say a few swear words, :lol: :mad , cry alittle, :cry , few more swear words, :mad and within the next 4 or 5 trys, it starts!? for 2 -4 days no problems, then we start all over again.
also independant of this, my drivers electric seat switch for forward and back doesn't work. up and down does. next time i start the car, hopefully without going through the above mentioned swearing session, the darn thing works perfectly!
and suggestoins?

the starting problem probably has to do with a faulty neutral safety switch. Next time it wont crank, grab the shifter and shake it around. You could try to put it in "N" too.
Don't know what to tell you about your power seat.

I had similar problems, also had some trouble codes randomly popping up. I took it to the dealer(extended warranty), they told me it was a bad battery connection. I thought they were full of it, but I haven't had it happen since, that was over two weeks ago.

Glad you got this fixed. I had this happen to me about a month ago and i checked the battery, the clutch safety switch, the starter, the ignition cylinder and switch and they were all fine. Turned out to be a bad relay in the PCM. I guess that's a pretty good check list if this ever happens to anyone.
