Ls1 rebuild
I rarely post on here but I'm assuming you guys know a lot more bout engines than I do. So first of the car is a 99 c5 6sp with 144k on it everything is feels fine the pull is exceptionally well with vararam, ls6 intake manifold, and borla exhaust it's about as fast as a c5z depending on launch..... But it's burning oil sooooo time for a rebuild and maybe some more power. 380s whp? If possible in budget.
1. Budget around $7k including labor @$80 I don't have the time to do it, the car is my daily.
2. I live in California and my car is a 99 so I have to pass the sniffer.....
R&R is like 28hrs @$80 + parts and machining $1500 = around $4k
So what can I do with $3k????
I was thinking just adding something similar to a cheater cam like 219/230 lsa117 or just a 02+ls6 cam pared with some ported stage 2 PRC 5.3 heads and then a tune.
Everyone's input would be appreciated oh and I'm not really trying to build a race car just looking for some more fun for the daily car.
