Thanks guys! If I decide I want to go further - I'll watch the parts forum for C6 Z51 or C5 Z06 sways.

Also, bars are easy to change on these cars...could even be done with the wheels on it you wanted. Incremental updates are a good idea. You're doing it right for sure.

ok, stupid user question:

IF I decide to do the bars, do I need new latest revision end links for an 03 base coupe?

No and yes. You COULD use the old plastic endlinks with the new bars, but they likely won't hold up. While you're doing it, it's in your best interest to get endlinks as well. I found used bars that came with good endlinks already on them, so that worked out.

Your '03 should have metal endlinks already. Definitely check before you buy something you don't need.

Yup, it does. I just crawled under and looked. I picked the car up and the C6 Z06 shocks do make a difference but it still doesn't feel like my old Z51 C4. I think I'll spring for the C6-Z51 Sways.

Should I have it aligned after the switch?

An alignment never hurts, but installing the bars has no effect on the alignment (unless you do something very wrong).

Kind of my line of thinking as well, but then a little voice goes off in the back of my head saying "but your wife wants to move to Florida so why in the world would I need 'em? "

There's a VERY high probability of that and the roads in the SW regions of Fla are boring, to be kind. Straight and flat. I'll probably do it just in case but will have to ponder it for a bit.

Thanks to all for the help.

Default did C6 Z06 bars & shocks too

stock C5 coupe, swapped stock stuff for C6 Z06 gear (including metal end links) and could definitely tell a big cornering difference but only slight ride stiffness increase.

Then installed a "Hardbar" harness bar and ride stiffness increased significantly but car was super smooth running 125+ mph over long distance in last year's Nevada Open Road Challenge race.

So car is now a good bit less "comfortable" on a sunday drive to grab a root beer float but rock solid at 140+ MPH for 90 miles.

pick your poison but you can't have both is the moral of this story...

Well, for my case I suspect that the C6 Z06 shocks and adding the C6 Z51 bars will be just fine for me. I don't race. As for the metal arms, the '03 already has 'em.

I essentially have that setup and I love it. I do track my car, though...so we'll see how long it lasts before I upgrade.

I'd guess it's referring to F45/55, FE3, and FE1 suspension packages, respectively.

None of it is worth a damn if you've got old worn out shocks, which means you've got uncontrolled suspension movement. Shocks first, then sways.

by the way, GM is not the only option. Sam Strano makes a great front bar for our cars. Hotchkis makes a pretty decent one too.
And don't forget VanSteel.
