I think you need to research this one, in reading here, the computer only understands specific outputs, and any reading outside of it's understanding throws codes. I don't remember any damage to any system, but check before you spend.

That is what I was reading but nothing confirmed. The C6 appears to bolt in place with same connector but possibly be 140amp rather than 110amp.
I had a local shop rebuild the factory unit for ~$70. Seems to be working.
Sorry I wasn't brave enough to try the C6 unit. The part #s I found did not line up. On my 3rd Corvette and 2nd time needing to fix an alternator I've read plenty of stories where the cars are picky on the alternator.

I think you found a good resolution 70 bucks for a rebuild is fine with me, plus why look for trouble with changing parts that will create unknown results. Solving electrical problems is tough for me, solving problems created via error would be depressing. Don't ask me how I know how this feels, I'm trying to forget. Again.
I plan on a rebuild when the time comes. I don't like to modify electrical circuits given my level of understanding.
