Default Accidentally turned F45 back on, help.

First off I wish i knew what i did now, don't we all though.
Anyways,
I bought a c5 recently and was doing a thorough clean on it. While checking the trunk compartments I saw two plugs were unplugged (electronic suspension control) and decided to plug them back in to see what happened. Why mess with a good running no code throwing car you ask? Because I'm young and make mistakes lol. Well obviously someone before me had unplugged the ESC and gone through the BCM with a tech 2 and deleted the F45 RPO because I have front bilstein shocks and had no problems before.

I now have the service ride control and don't exceed 80mph warnings.

A member with a tech 2, dadaroo, was nice enough to try and help me. When he tried to go into my car with the T2 it wouldn't take the normal path, it kept skipping transmission select and asking about z49 or z45 (I can't remember) but it's the Canada RPO.

Maybe its because my car is a 98 and you can't just "delete" the f45 but instead reprogram the BCM and "leave out" the f45. But that's just a hunch I think I read somewhere on here.

So what do I or can I do? Thanks a ton, this place is great.

When the Tech2 asks about Z49 just say no.... even if your car is a Canadian car. It will open up all the menus.

Forgot to mention he tried to say no and yes, but it didn't work. I don't remember what it did but I know it wasn't normal.

Did you leave the module connected when you tried to delete?

No I unplugged it. Any specific order you're supposed to do that in?

Cut and paste-

Go to this link http://www.stopforce.com/RPO.html and print out steps 2-14. Those are the instructions on what to do with the Tech II.

Then copy and print these procedure sequence instructions:

1. Hook up your Tech 2 (Driver's footwell), turn the car ON, make sure the module in the left rear storage compartment (pull back the velcro lining on the front of the compartment) is plugged in. DO NOT UNPLUG THIS MODULE

2. Now use the Tech 2 to delete the F45 option ( F55 option does not appear on the Tech 2 menu screen - SO - DELETE THE F45 OPTION
(use the screen captures - steps 2-14)

3. Save the new configuration

4. DO NOT TURN THE CAR OFF DO NOT REMOVE THE TECH 2 Go to the module in the rear of the car, unplug the GRAY connector - IT IS THE WIDEST ONE - leave the other 1 (F/45) or 2 (F/55) plugged in.

5. Turn off the car but LEAVE THE TECH 2 PLUGGED IN

6. Remove remaining plugs from module in the rear of the car - Never plug them back in again, if you do the F/45 turns on automatically.

7. Now the moment of TRUTH - Turn the car on and verify that the dreaded - MAX SPEED 80 MPH - is gone. This message was only present if you had already disconnected the shock sensors. Some people have had to disconnect their battery to allow the computer to reset to remove this message, but I would confirm with the Tech II that the F/45 was actually deleted first and if not reconnect everything and start again with step 1.

8. Unplug the Tech 2 - Get in the car and take it for a ride. Smile as you pass the DREADED 80 MPH.

After all that - this time take the module out of the car so you won't be tempted to plug it back in again

Tried this with no such luck.

Nope. It's weird, I just guess I'm going try and learn how to do the resistors.

There is some confusion in doing step #2 in the stopforce list.

I encountered the exact same problems today. My car is a 97' with a fully intact working f45 suspension. Had my mechanic friend come over with his tech 2 thinking this would be a 5 minute deal. But noooo! We followed the stopforce list although our path was a little different it was still easy enough to navigate. We tried unplugging the module first then we left it plugged in we said yes and no to the v49 question nothing seemed to work. My buddy remembered having problems like this in the past and decided to check and clear every old code still left in every section. After that we tried module plugged in no to v49 and even though we didn't get any indication that it worked I unplugged the module and bingo no more codes or warnings. Test drive did not trip any codes or warnings. I replaced the shocks and removed all associated hardware like the wheel position sensors and took it out. NO codes No warnings just new shocks great ride and a net weight loss of 21lbs. I don't know it this is the answer but it worked for us.

By clearing every code I assume you mean in the tech 2 and not on my dash?

Yes with the tech2. I check the dic often and keep a list of repeat codes and then clear them. I had no codes in the dic but had some the tech2 found, not a lot but a few none the less. I hope this helps you and others having the same problems.

I disconnected my sensors to the shocks themselves. No need for a resistors, tech 2 or connectors. Let me know if you need a pic you shouldn't be throwing codes.

This isn't my idea I got it from here https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-on-c5.html..I also talked to rv13 earlier and he answered some questions for me. Thanks again man!!! Basically you unhook the shock and the plug so you have the whole thing in front of you..

and you take a punch or screwdriver and hit the holes in a counter clockwise position and it starts to unscrew. It took me a few wacks for it to break free. Unscrew it and wiggle the sensor out.You may have to pop that piece to the right off with a flat head. I did...

Once your done just plug it back up and ziptie the wires out of the way. You can actually attach the sensor rubber piece on the side of the brake line where you popped the other part off its a perfect fit. I have no codes and I sat there for 30 minutes unhooking it and hooking it up to see if it would throw any codes. the only time it did was when I disconnected it from the harness. SO I am a happy camper..

That's a little different than "disconnected my sensors to the shocks and no codes". Also the link you posted doesn't work.

The downside to just removing and zip tying the shock sensor is IF anything still connected such as the wheel position sensors malfunctions you will get codes and you will get limited to 80mph and you will have to repair it. Why anyone would leave all those sensors, wiring and the module in the car is beyond me. Delete it remove it and you are done forever.
