I am still new to the C5 but like most standard tranny's I have found when our MN6 gets cantankerous about going into reverse...I can slip the clutch in first and rock it forward just a tad, then slip it into reverse. Usually gets better when warmed up... probably Synchronizers
Possibly a new or different fluid would help with shifting.
If you haven't done it, the Venom mod might help?
I am in the process of learning more about these cars and their quirks and fixes... so take what I am saying with a grain of salt till you get conformation on what to do...I like thinking out loud and this is part of my "hands on" learning experience, but would hate leading someone down the wrong path.

Those were my thoughts as well. Drove for a solid hour to charge the battery and get the tranny warmed up but its a solid lock out on reverse.
