Thank you for the info/picture. Got the cables disconnected, they were covered. I couldn't see that lower bracket because the foam liner that goes around my battery was hanging out a couple inches in the front and blocking the view. Unfortunately there's no room for socket wrench at the bottom I don't have a socket extension long enough to access that, so I'm going to have to go get one. Looks like I'll need about 8" or so to clear the top of the battery.
As to someone's mention that the cables may be corroded, they're pristine. I have a wire brush and the stuff you spray on the posts though, which I'll apply.
I undo the hold down with a socket and an extension. As others have mentioned, don't drop the bolt!
p.s. If you need a battery recommendation, mine would be the Sears Platinum. I've had one for some years now - not long after they came out in fact - and I am amazed how long I can let the car sit in winter and just turn the key and it starts right up.
