Default Tubbing ..... Does it really help ??

Hi guys ,
i know there are several forum members that have decided to "TUB" there wheel wells in an effort to improve traction.

Is this MOD worth the money ? Did you really notice a significant difference ?

Thanks

I went from the stockers in back to 18x12 with the tubbing done by LGM. The traction difference is night and day with the 335's out back, on the street and at the track. Well worth it for performance reasons, not just show.

Definitely a big improvement over stock run-flats. A better comparison might be to the same tire in 295/35 which will fit fine without tubbing. I'm not sure it would be nearly as big a difference then. I run 335/30/18 Hoosiers at the track (hpde events) and they stick like glue. I also like the look of the wider tire. I'm glad I did it, but if your only criteria is performance, I'm not sure it's all that cost effective.

I don't think it is worth it. I run 335s on 18x11.5 without tubbing. The difference between that and a tubbed car is too small for the investment.

Tubbing is a visual mod and depends how picky you are on visuals and how you like the look.

Going to a 335/30-18 is a huge difference in braking, traction and handling.

I'm confused. How is tubbing a visual mod? It's just cutting out the rear wheel wells and fiberglassing in wider wheel wells.
