Default Dropped P0430 about 1 month after header install

So I installed XSpower longtube headers and x-pipe with high flow cats. Everything was fine for about a month, but now it drops P0430 and illuminates the CEL. I probably drove 400 miles before this happened. I got underneath and checked all the bolts, made sure the O2 sensors were tight, etc.

Any clue why this problem would show at this point ? I know I can tune this problem away...

alot of times the smaller cats that come with headers will throw codes. most people still have the p0420 and p0430 codes tuned out when they have the car tuned for the headers w/cats.

Use a small O2 spacer for an easy and cheap fix. You know your cats are good. A spacer will make sure the code doesn't come back and won't affect how it drives at all. Much easier than going and getting it tuned.

So what is this O2 spacer, how does it work, and where does it go?

XSPower cats aren't as effective as OEM. Mine smells worse and sets P0420 and P0430 codes since installing them.

With LT headers you always will be chasing codes---Both catless and with cats
Many claim easy fixes but the best 100% way to eliminate all of them is to have a tuner tune them all out----Not the front 02 reporting as the fronts control the fueling at P/T but all the rear 02 reporting as well as all the catalyst system type codes--gone forerver
PS: these are normally FALSE codes anyway due to the LT's or aftermarket cats or re-located stock cats

That's normal after a LT header and high flow cat install. Had mine tuned off after my install.

Sorry to bring an old thread back. About to buy a car and he has the texas long tube headers and high flow cats but most monitors are not ready. Not sure if it's because he cleared codes before i got there, or because it's his tune. If the tuner deletes the o2 sensors, those monitors will still not be ready right? I need it to pass NY emissions or I can't register the car. Should I forget about this car? Such a good price though. Really don't feel like putting back the stock headers.

Just ask the owner if he cleared the codes. You can also ask him about the tune. If the price is not low enough to make you still want to buy it because of the money needed to fix it, just forget the car and move on.
