Default 853 vs 241's

Im a pretty sure I trashed my rings. Will know for sure in a couple
days when I do some more testing.

That means I have to rebuild the engine a lot sooner then planned.
I don't have a budget, but while the heads are off they have to get work done.

Being a 2000, it should have 853's. Would rather save the money
and just work over the 853's that I have, if buying some 241's
will only get me an extra 10 hp. How much better do they really flow?
I have read they are almost identical.

I'm not changing ports. I have brand new steal work headers on it.
Not going to replace those to change head styles.

Can not afford AFR's at this time.

My 2000 came with 241's but recently yanked them off. Installed 317 heads and a cam. Being that you have a blower already it gives you options basically. I honestly don't see any difference between 853 & 241 heads. You might be able to pick some 241's up cheaper than getting yours worked over. I went with 317's to lower the compression a little and up the boost.

Will the same headers work?

I know very little about LS1 heads. I know everyone
wants the new heads but I am not buying another set of headers.

Will be doing a fully forged bottom end. It will just sit till I have the right parts. I don't like pulling motors.

Yes the headers will work just fine, the exhaust ports are the same. Also the 317's are for a 6.0 liter with a 4in stroke. Meaning you will need to use a head gasket for the head. I used LS7 head gaskets on mine. Is your car an auto or 6 spd? Some people said they noticed midrange power loss with an auto going with these heads. I have a 6 spd so I can't see any loss at all

853 and 241 are the same heads. They're just cast different. You will see likely 0 difference in power. All ls headers will bolt up to all ls heads. The intakes however are different.
