Default Re-routing rear brake lines

I have a 2000 FRC. Has anyone re-routed the rear brake lines to make dropping the rear transaxle easier? I cannot find any threads on this subject. There must be a reason GM routed the hard lines between the disconnect fittings and the brake hoses under the drive shafts necessitating seperating the shafts to drop the transaxle. I am considering running the hard lines along the undercarraige to the brake hoses as directly as possible. I am willing to bet I am overlooking something basic but any input would be appreciated.

Working of the cradle drop and that question came to me too.
Assembly ease for GM would be one reason.

Just one note think exhaust heat... don't get to close.
If I was a racer and did this a lot I would move them too..
