Default Guide for engine removal?

I have searched, and searched.
I have found lots of videos after the engine is out.
I have found guys who have take the engine out the side,
out from under the car... pretty much everything.

Except a guide telling you how to drop the cradle and remove the engine.
I have never tried to take an engine out from under a car.

Did you read it?
I did they skip over everything.
You click read full article and you get a couple sentences.

Once the shifter is removed, the vehicle can be put on a two-post lift, and the drivetrain component and system removal process can happen.

Yep that sure tells me how to do it....

I checked the first 5 pages of google... nothing but crap.

Are you using a lift? or in the garage?

If no lift, we will go out the top. If this is the case, let me know and I will walk you through the steps from memory.

Dude I will love you forever, if you can do that....

I do not have a lift.
I had not decided best way to get it out. I read of guys taking it under with large jack stands.

I so do not like that idea. Out the top sounds so much better to me.

I just finished removing the engine from my 2001 from the top. I have the car on jack stands and dropped the cradle, pulled the engine with a engine lift. It was no harder than pulling the earlier model cars except having to drop the cradle.
here is a link to a procedure for pulling engine from the top:
http://web.archive.org/web/201012091...engineswap.htm
hope this helps
