So my 99 frc started making a ticking noise the othere day. I thought it could be a bent push rod or a rocker. So i took off the valve covers and took off the rockers the check everything out. All the pushrods seemed to be straight. The i saw this
I assume that the previous owner bent a pushrod and replaced it. But could that grove cause the tick or know even tho the push rod has been replaced? Thanks
Something isn't right. It should not do that. For the pushrod to wear that slot I'd has to be moving in the rocker arm or on the lifter. I think the motor has been drove for a long period with a bent pushrod. I don't see any other way, it can't move in the arm or the lifter so that has to be what's happening.
