I have the Snap-On tool, for a stock car it is very helpful especially #7. Hardest part of the job is removing the spark plug wires. I prefer a copper plug and would go with a TR5, which has a smaller gap. Otherwise, go with the new GM plug with the smaller gap, I believe they are Iridium.
I just read dadaroo'so article on the CAC so I know about the snapon/harbor freight tool.
The dielectric grease is to seal the boot to the ceramic and keep junk out, right?
CAC says to replace wires and plugs jointly; my wires have about 600 miles on them. Do they need to be replaced again? If so, what are good replacements?
No need to change wires if that is all the miles on them, I am curious why U didn't change the plugs when wires were changed. I think they recommend changing wires when plugs are changed is because you destroy them trying to get them off so no I wouldn't change them but don't damage them when U remove them to replace plugs.
