Default Lowering

Those of you who have lowered your C5s and drive them regularly, please advise whether you would recommend it or not and why. Any particular application recommended?

I lowered my 99 and love it. I did not cut any bushings or use lowering bolts just loosed the rear and tightend the front. You can tell by looking at it that it has been lowered. I did not lose any drive comfort. Only drawback is that I am more aware of steep drives and high speed bumps. :D

I lowered mine this past weekend. I got longer bolts in the back and left 8 threads showing. In the front I cyt 2/3's of the bushing off. I love it!!!!!! I think it rided better now then it did before. It is a stiffer ride now. Like he said you have to watch out for bumps and driveways. Kaley

Mine SEEMS to ride a little harsher, but the slight improvement in handling and BIG improvement in looks is worth it. Plus, it is TOTALLY reversable if you don't like it. :yesnod:

Low is the only way to go.....and looks very

I lowered as far as possible without cutting bushings (front) or using longer bolts (rear).

Thanks looks great! I am mostly worried about the road dip concerns, but it sounds as if that's not overly burdensome.

Lowered to the limit with stock bolts (see sig) but w/ new HRE's on the way I am definately going to go with longer rear bolts and cut the front bushings. racer44 is my HERO!!!

I just lowered mine this weekend by cutting 2 front bushings and using 6" bolts in the rear. I also installed Bilstein's and Hotchkis sway bars.

This is how a Corvette SHOULD be ! I will post some before and after pix as soon as I can. If you're thinking about it - do it ! You won't regret it.
