to build or not to build?
I have a 99 coupe LS-1. 167,000 miles. The crank pulley came loose and was wondering about how much it would cost to fix, if the crank went out of balance, would it be easier or more cost effective to replace engine with a better bigger engine or rebuild original one?

You could put on an under drive for a few hp, or just use stock for replacement. Depends on what you want to do with the car. Let's face it, if stock went 167K miles a stock replacement will probably last until the motor needs serious work.
