Is there any kind of dyno charts that compare the FLP with the SLP Headers and Exhaust? I have Borla catback and Im looking for the best system for my money. Bolt on and no welding is the option I am taking. If anyone has dyno charts of before FLP or SLP and after Header install I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
Before you make a final decision on the investment of quality parts in your car I would also consider the other great header alternative from LGM. There are many good choices available on the market, but we belive our headers offer unsurpassed quality, performance, and support that we stand behind.
Dont know much about the SLP headers for the C5 but if they are anything like their FBody headers, i would stay away! far away!
the FLP's are the among the best header available for the vettes. we have seen as much as 21hp and 17trq gain on our dyno. no cutting or welding is required unlike most other brands.
LGs headers are definetly among the best, if not the best, but for the money, the FLPs are the way to go. i dont think there would be much difference in hp gains between the two brands of headers on a non head/ cam car. i know LGs would be the way to go on a big cubic inch or stroker motor. in fact, im planning on trying some on my 427 soon! hint, hint!
I can't say which is better SLP or FLP but I can can tell you that I am very satisfied with my set of FLP's... I did the install myself and the quality and workmanship is second to none. Along with the performance (seat-of-the-pants) barometer, the sound is aggressive combined with my Corsa Indy's. The high-flow cats are on my car as a reference... Good luck in your decision!
Ditto on the FLP recommendation above. My '98 dyno'd the following improvements: 18RWHP and 20RWT @ peak...this was before Heads and Cam. The fit and sound are great. Good luck with your choices.

We sell and install alot of the SLP f-body headers and haven't had any problems with the product. They just take a little while to come in sometimes. The first batch of these headers will be going out very soon so I'm sure there will be feedback posted in the next few weeks. I haven't seen a set of LG headers in person but have been told that they have a very nice product.
I have also heard lots of good things about SLP on FBody. I am one of the pioneers trying SLP on the headers, so I will let everyone know once TBryne ships em out :)

Are the ~21/17 gains on bolt on cars (ie, cars with stock heads/cam)?
Before: 316 RWHP w/FLPs 334 RWHP= 18 RWHP Gain Before: 331 Torque w/FLPs 344 Torque= 13 lbs. Torque Gain For what is basically a stock motor, am impressed with the results.
Now the only question is what is the difference in price between SLP,FLP,and the LG ones? I had a set of SLP's for my 00WS6 and they were flawless in every way. Very nicely finished.Made one of the mustang guys in town go buy him a set of headers that looked very close in finish. Didnt get any dyno numbers out of them because I sold the T/A to buy the C5. But I would not hesitate to go back with the SLP's. I am looking into the FLP's now also. I was told the LG's are way to expensive. But I havent gotten a real price on them yet.
I just installed a set of FLPs and I have no complaints, easy install and everything fit with no swearing or throwing tools around :). Finish was excellent, just wish they were stainless but thats life.
The only 'problem' with the SLP f-body headers was they were a b-i-t-c-h to install and SLP claimed like a 40hp increase which gave them a bad rap to begin with. I owned a set of f-body SLPs, they were a beautiful set of headers. The rusty mac 'cheapo' mid length headers on my old supercharged LS1 f-body worked just fine as well so I always hate to get involved in the grate header debates :) Honestly if the C5 SLPs were available when I was buying I probably would have tried them.
I will be dynoing my car next wendseday with FLPs, LS6 intake ad a vortex - we'll see...
