Ebtcm
When I attempted to repair the EBCM recently the part circled in red in the picture below(for reference only) pulled out of the circuit board.
I soldered it back in, as well as the five solder points mentioned in the EBCM repair post.
My module does not communicate any more per the DIC and I have these codes
2003 A6
codes
10 PCM P1571 H C
P1689 H C
28 TCS NO COMM
58 SDM U1040 H C
I posted about this a week or two ago(
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-c5-tech.html ) but I really did not ask the question,
"Did I fry my module?"
It seemed like the part could just be soldered back in place.
I can try to resolder all of the points again and if it comes back to life great.
If it does not come back to life then start looking for another box.
I just would like to get a bit-o-feedback.
Thanks,
Joey

Not sure if you fried it. If it were me I would send it out to one of the many vendors and see what they say.
You can still get them new for your year, just going to be about $600.

I was a long day when I got every thing completed.
I think I may just tear back into the EBTCM and give it a closer once over.
I think that I did not get the old solder out good enough.
I do not have a solder sucker so I improvised with some copper screen to collect the old solder.
I think I can do better.

That's a solenoid and wouldn't hurt communications by itself. You have to do damage to the control circuit or connector to cause that.

Just make sure that 2002 and 2003 are the same.
I thought 01 and 02 were the same P/N and 03 and 04 were different but were the same P/N also.
