Default Steering column/Seat Issue C5

First off I would like to thank this forum and the contributing members for helping me over the years. I was able to fix my oil pressure sensor, headlight motor, heads up display and countless little issues without having to spend $$$ on the labor.

This past weekend I wanted to tackly my telescoping steering wheel and seat issues. Awhile back I did the rocker seat fix but once everything was hooked back up the steering column went all the way in and never worked again. I tried resetting it and checked all the pins and nothing. You would hit the in/out and the seat would make a noise. I did some research and checked all pins/contacts this last weekend. They all looked good. I ended up finding out the the rear motor on the seat that lifts the back of the seat up and down was all the way down to the point it broke the plastic end cap. I took of the pin and adjusted the seat back up and hooked all the wires back up. Once back in the car the motor for the seat went down so I was very glad it wasn't the motor. Next I tested the telescoping steering wheel but it ended up making the rear seat go only down. My guess is that my SCM in the seat is bad? Has anyone had similar problems.

Thanks in advance!

I assume you have Memory since you said SCM, correct? The schematics are different.

Do all three seat motor directions move correctly from the seat switch?

I briefly looked at the switch and SCM connector views. They are the same design and color. I think if you accidently swapped them a lot more than what you are seeing would happen.

Pull your dash DIC codes and let's see if it shows anything SCM related.

I can provide schematics and connector views if needed.

You might want to disconnect the column motor and jumper it to make sure it is working. I can provide the info.

Need your year for any detail information.

Yes, I have Memory. The seat motor switch will go forward and back. The switch on the seat will make the rear motor go down but not up. The telescoping steering wheel switch will also make the rear motor go down.

DIC Code shows B2860

How do I disconnect the column motor and jumper? Thanks for your help!

I have the info you need but I can't get my PDF files from Dropbox to link correctly. Send me a PM with your email and I will get the info to you and my phone number to discuss.

Oh, that code is a TSW position sensor issue which could be the sensor or a wiring/ connector issue. I think you said you had damaged a connector?

I find it hard to believe the SCM went bad during your work. Especially such a weird result.
