Default Corbeau A4 review

Well I finally got some seat time in my A4 the first 4 months sitting in them pretending I was driving felt great . I got about 700 miles on them now and they feel fantastic!! Finally no more slipping and sliding and I am held in well. Install was pretty easy and I followed Torque how to to have the seats in the correct spot not passenger on driver and vice versa..I have to say they are very comfortable and it feels like someone is giving you a slight hug the whole time it feels so nice...I got them from TPSMak and his customer service was excellent we actually ordered 2 sets. One for me and one for tcruse which both came to my door a week earlier then expected. From time of order to delivery to my home was less then a week I think

The packing was excellent I would never be able to get both seats back in the box that's how good it was. I got the grey/black..It's more of a dirty white then grey but oh well. Install was pretty easy the only complaint is why haven't they fixed the issue with the seats so they would install on the correct side and be centered? getting them in the car wasnt much of a big deal and it's a tight fit. The only thing that I dont like...The brackets/sliders..They suck there is no other way to put it. they feel flimsy and they are hard to slide back and forth. The one good thing is I have my seat set so I don't need to really move it but it takes some muscle to move them if i needed. getting in and out is a little different if you ever sat in a C4 vette you kinda have to go *** in first. These are the same way I mean you can slide in but you end up hitting the side bolster and I got micorsuede so I don't want to rub against the same side and have it wearing away and have it faded. they are comfortable on long trips I driven in it for hours and I dont feel fatigued. My waist is a 34--36 just depends on the week but anything bigger and you wont be comfortable or really fit. So bigger passengers are going to have trouble riding or i should say fitting.

Overall i am very happy with my purchase it isn't a pure purpose track seat but it's that happy medium between track/street. I got the 5th hole just in case for whatever but i do alot of Mexico runs and on/off ramps and I love how they feel..PS the brackets suck just wanted to say it again

They look great and glad to hear that you are satisfied with them. One question: I read Toque's write up and the procedure for drilling the brackets so that you can mount the seats on the proper side with the recline lever on the outside. However, Toque notes that he went back to the reversed seat mounting because the he felt he was sitting off center to the steering wheel. Do you have the same feeling or is it not noticeable enough to bother you?

He fixed that by moving it over a 1.5" it's in his write up with pics and measurements. Mine is centered as mentioned check out the first pic of the new holes ..Scroll down a bit and you will see what I'm talking about in his write up. Thats what my complaint is why doesn't Corbeau fix that? Its a easy fix

I am sorry I guess I was not clear in my question. I understand that moving the holes over 1.5 inches allows you to mount the driver’s seat on the driver’s side and have the clearance so the recline lever is on the proper side of the seat. However, in doing so I believe Toque felt that he was sitting off center to the steering wheel (right of center by that 1.5 inches) and he went back to the original mounting holes but again had to mount the seats reversed, drivers on passenger side, passenger on drivers side with the recline levers on the console sides of the seats. If I have read that wrong in his write up I apologize for the confusion.
My question is about centered to the steering wheel right to left, so that is why I asked. Sorry if I missed something here. Thanks.

Thanks. I am about to install mine. They were recovered to match the rest of my interior that I have had leather wrapped. The picture shows them as they first came back from the leather shop. Had to send them back as it seemed to me the leather was "loose" in some spots. They look much better now. I am hoping the off set is centered like you have experienced as I really don't want to mount them reversed.

Damn that's gonna look good. Ill do that when mine start to get warn. You can always mess with the bracket and make new holes if it's not to your liking.

Hey Shant, your new seats look killer. Do they hug much better than the stock? Also, you lose the heated seats or did you add the heater to the Corbeau's

Thanks D!!! Man these are wayyyyyyy better then the stock ones. Everyone that sits in them love them. They are one of my favorite mods I have done to this car. C5's didn't come with heaters so the only thing I lost was the power seat but I don't ever move my seat even when I had powered seats so it didn't matter to me. Sometime I wonder why some sports cars come with powered seats I mean once it's set well it's set why would you move it?..I think I moved my power seat 2x in 5 years..once because I dropped my phone and the other was to pick up some change. You can check them out whenever

3/5/17
Wanted to update..In my original post I had stated " I got microsuede so I don't want to rub against the same side and have it wearing away and have it faded".

They still look great after the abuse and there is very little rubbing/fade on the part I was worried about when I first got them but not a concern now. Car has been down awhile and the driver seat was really filthy. I went to the dollar store got a bottle of carpet cleaner sprayed it down let it soak and wiped down. They look new again.. Still loving them.
