Default Convertible seal (top rubbing)

The new Weather seal for my top is in. Dealer service thinks he may need to send car to a "trim shop". I think I have read on line that this is a .6 hour job, and really not a big deal. Can someone direct me to this post or give me some insight on how to install? I would love to have B/Green Engineers install this at Carlisle next week. They are some good guys, I enjoy talking to them. See Ya in PA. next week.

Here's the info I copied on the weatherstrip & install. Doesn't sound like you need a trim shop for this. Just a screwdriver. My dealer replaced mine, but it sounds like an easy DIY job.

New weatherstrip to prevent vert top from scratching deck lid.

Installation is not difficult - just 4 screws(2 per side)tucked in the frame of the top.

If your top is scuffing or is very close to your deck, I highly recommend you replace the weatherstrip.
The part number is 10319827 for those out of warranty.

I installed my new thicker seal in about 15 minutes with no previous experience with the top. Dealers really do disappoint me some times

Stupid question...does my car have to be in warranty in order to get the new weatherstrip?

If you have a dealer install the new rubber 5th bow seal make sure the little foam pads are replaced back into their factory installed positions so the seal bolts do not puncture your canvas. The foam pads are NOT AVAILABLE FROM GM.

Mine took less than an hour at the dealer. If the car is under warranty, no charge, If its out of warranty, then you pay.
