Underhood LED dim until ign. on
Has anyone else had this issue? The light is dim until I turn the ignition on. The original bulb functions as designed. Is there a way to rectify this?

I ran into this years back when doing the LED bulb conversions. Problem is that the LED resistance in the circuit is not comparable to that of the small halogen bulb previously installed. The computer does not fully remove voltage from the circuit when it goes into auto timeout. Messed around with it for a few hours and found by inserting a very small bulb into the circuit (one off a small toggle switch) the hood light functioned properly. I eventually figured out the resister load of the small bulb and then inserted a resistor into the circuit. I have no idea what resistor value I used back then, but shouldn't be too hard for figure it out.
