My 1997 C5 started out with the code to replace bank one sensor one, so I did. Shortly thereafter the code came up to replace bank two sensor one, so I did. Then the code came up once again for bank one sensor one, I checked the sensor per directions from a thread in the forum and all was well. Had the code reset, went for awhile and now I'm getting the code that none of the sensors are reading. Any suggestions, I'd appreciate some help. Thank You!
Are you talking about P0430 and/or P0431? If so, it is telling you there is an issue with either the sensor and/or the cat on the respective side. Maybe you have a bad cat?
Or... are you talking about front sensors?
There are several things that can cause O2 Sensor headaches. Before you empty your wallet and last nerve, take a look at this schematic and do some troubleshooting. Actually measure the voltage ON THE FUSE test points (on top of the fuse) to chassis ground and make sure that you are reading FULL battery voltage on the heater circuits:
You will notice that the OXY SEN fuse is SUPPLIED by the "IGNITION SWITCH" If the ignition switch isn't supplying the proper voltage,,, the sensors will NOT function properly, no matter how many you install.
You should also look at the ground and the splice pack. Here is what can happen to that splice pack if the battery ever leaks or gets gassy!!
