Default active handling questions

I understand what it does for you, but what does it physically do to the car? What all is involved with this system?

Jeff,

I'm currently going through a little active handling SNAFU in my '99 hard top.

See my post about the $400 bill...

There are all sorts of sensors through out the car, wheel sensors, yaw rate sensors, steering sensors, etc... that give input to the computer. The computer in turn can activate the brakes individually to try to keep the car going in the direction that you're pointing it. It's quite a complicated system, and is currently being a PIMA and costing me some money, but it is absolutely amazing the way it works. I've been way out of shape while autocrossing my car and the AH system makes it so easy to get staightened out again, just let off the power a bit and the car snaps right back to where you're pointing it. It really is amazing.

There are 2 levels. Active handling has all kinds of sensors as mentioned. When the system detects too much yaw it uses whatever brake will help straighten the car and backs off of the throttle. If you switch the system to competetive driving it will still activate the brakes but will not retard the trottle.

Your conversion is an awesome idea. The '69-'72 is my personal favorite.

I have always said it would be awesome to have the LS1 in a Cobra kit car, but in a C3! That is even better.

What is required for the engine to run in any car as far as computer systems go?

If you can retrofit an AH system in a C3 that would be amazing.
