I have a set of QA1 for sale that I had on mine for HPDE.
They are single adjustable & work great on the street on the softer
Setting. $800.00 shipped
Pm if interested.
I tried a QA1 on the rear of my car and had 2 pictures on tinypic linked here but the QA1 one disappeared (which makes me think it had help disappearing others that are older are still there??) and I lost my copy with a PC change. I could stick my figers straight-in with the back touching the fender lip and the tips on the tread of the tire. The tread was about 1/2" below the fender lip or to word it differently there was about 1/2" gap between the wheel and fender. In comparison, the C6Z06 shocks let my tires almost touch the fender lip with the tire just a little inside the wheel well. Here's the C6 shock fully compressed on my car.
Looking back on what I found when I measured I have about 2" of travel with the C6Z shocks and figured I'd get around 1" of travel with the QA1's on the rear. I do bottom with the C6Z shocks so I figured the QA1's would have to be set really stiff to not bottom any worse. My car is lowered on stock bolts but not quite all the way.
I've seen other posts here saying they work great and from the pictures I can't see how they have any more than 1/2" of travel in the rear. I guess it's like lowering bolts, people must only drive good roads because they go so low they have almost no travel and still say the car rides great.

Dropping only an inch is still not enough to get rid of 4x4 look. I currently have bilsteins up front and c6 zo6 in the rear. Had mine completey slammed (front bolt removed, rear bushings cut in half) ride was not good. Used a 1/2" rubber spacer up front (helped with noise as well), and raised up the back a bit. Ride is better but still bouncy. Question is what coilovers are best for STREET use on sometimes crappy road? I'm hoping Stance is the answer as the price is good, and spring rates are low enough for a fairly comfortable ride. Looking for feedback with real world experience on crappy US roads.

I read a post here, that said the Bilsteins were actually longer than the stock shocks.

I went a similar route before installing the Stance coil overs on my 2000 coupe with C6 Z06 sways and metal end links. Setting the units in the midrange of the dampening adjustment they have performed well to date. The roads here are not totally crappy but high use of speed bumps and constant construction has tested the units well enough to where I am confident of not bottoming out and still maintain a supple ride. It is not soft or undulating, and not harsh and bouncy or jarring. It seems to soak up the bump or road imperfection and then settle quickly. The best I can describe it. It is lowered but not slammed on the ground. measuring from just in front of the jacking puck locations in the frame it is approximately 4 inches in front and 4.350 inches in the rear. I am thinking of raising the rear to 4.5 inches just to keep the rake within specs. It is in the shop now for some body work for front and rear flared fenders and rear brake vents and ducts, otherwise I would post pictures. I am thinking of upgrading the springs to the now optional Swift springs from Stance but not to increase rate necessarily but as a preemptive move as the swift springs are supposed to be lighter and have a longer life. Not that the standards springs may not be sufficient. it is just that I want to finish my mods once and then spend the rest of the time enjoying this Vette. At 65 I don't plan on another so once done this summer that's it for me as far as mods. Hopefully I have taken care of all the most noted and possible maintenance items ahead of time. Then again Mr. Murphy has his own laws.
Found an old cell phone pic of it lowered on the Stance but before the change of wheels and C6 Z06 brakes as well. But it should give you an idea:

They are quite similar in length. There was a claim that with the long Bilstein bump stop that the shock would bottom earlier but that was clueless to the fact the Bilstein bump stop will go almost flat once the weight of the car gets on it.
Now, the Bilstein bump stop splitting and not working properly as a bump stop is yet another issue that I've seen happen on the forum. Probably the car was low enough it hit the stop a lot.
I went with LG GT2's, std setup from Lou. Extremely happy with the drop in height and ride quality/performance on the street. I don't track or autocross. Set up was easy and dialed in the settings quickly to my preference. Great products!!
There aren't any shocks shorter that would work with a really lowered car unless you get into something expensive enough that they're most of the way to a set of coilovers.
I installed gt2s last weekend, love them as well, the cornering is now limited by the tires and not the crappy fe1 suspension. I left them at the set height which is about the same as lowered on stock bolts, it does not look like there is a TON more to lower the front with the shock body without messing with the spring, but as much as I want to dump it with the twisties I run I need some travel.

I've read that a few times as well and also saw the post where the guy used the stock dust cover and some bushing cutting to gain back 1/2". I believe I cut mine in half during install.

Who is this Viking and is there a link to his potentially badass set?
Also has anyone driven in a car with Stance and something more expensive like the LG's to compare street driving manners?
