I've owned my Z for a year and have set the panic alarm off 3 times. Twice just being in my pocket, last night my wife used the car and set it off in a parking lot.
If anybody else finds this thing a PITA/too easy to mistakenly arm, here's a quick'n'easy fix. Pop open the FOB, pull out the circuit board. Cut a small piece of black tape (around 5/16" to 3/8" square) and place it over the grid behind where the panic button is. Push the circuit board back in, snap the cover back on. Done. Project estimated time: 2 minutes.
