I have gone through every possible way to try and get key fobs to work, with no success. Next step is to change out the receiver, but i have no idea where it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I found the transmitter after going through the DIC. No tire pressures are listed when the tire pressure "gauge" comes up. it shows Front l and right, Rear left and right, but no pressure listed. Also about a month or so ago, every time I drove the car it would say tire pressure to high in rears on day, or fronts the next. All tire pressure is even and equal. So I guess I can assume that the receiver is the problem? It looks brand new though-any way to test it?
First off, the car has to move, or drive, for a few seconds before the sensors will transmit tire pressure, it will not read correctly at rest when you turn on the car.
Secondly, do you know how old the sensors are in the wheels? It's unlikely they're all dead at the same time, but the batteries in them could all be dead.
It's unlikely the receiver is bad and needs replacement.
Are the keyfobs original with the car, or did you get new ones which may not match your receiver, ie, from the wrong year?
It is more likely the fobs are bad or need new batteries, and there are many threads on here as to how to repair (resolder) them.
Do you have an owner's manual?
One of the key fobs is the original, with the passive switch, the other is one i ordered to replace that one when it quit working. New batteries in both. Both have the same fcc id#. I have done the fob training time and time again with no luck. I will check tire pressure sensors next time I drive it. Also, fob worked fine before a minor/major incident about a month ago. Guy at work drove , literally, over the drivers side front of the car. $7300 worth of damage. Body shop had it for a month, and apparently let the battery die. Not working since. I will check the codes either later today or tomorrow and post them.
Took the car out this morning and the tire pressure sensors are in fact working properly. Here is a list of the codes I have:
10-pcm-
P0410 HC
P1441 C
P1571 H
28-TCS
C1241 HC
Thanks for all the info 8vette7-I have a ton of questions as this is my first vette, and the deeper I dig, the more I discover about the C1241 diagmosis explains why the car feels strange at low speed. Where on the car would this air pump be located? I knew there was an EGR problem since I ran codes when check engine light came on (did through OBDII dy=system with a code reader) I also noticed that are 2 hoses that go nowhere-3/4 ID maybe-one off airbox, one off egr valve. they just kinda hang therewith out any thing to connect to-is that maybe where the air pump should be?
I will post some pics for you, but I am 100% sure that the air pump has been removed. There is a pic that I need explained as well-if its not EGR valve, I have no idea what it is. Its an emissions thing next to the brake reservoir on the drivers side. One of the hoses runs to it. Got to get pics where I can post them.
Cubfan, I would suggest you look at creating new Threads on the issues that are not RFA related. It can be hard to figure out the history of an individual problem when there are several issues in one Thread. It will also get more input from specific experts since no one will know about these other issues in a Thread on RFA.
When you create the Thread and then provide a link here to make sure we know about it.
The A.I.R. (Air Reaction Injection) Pump is only installed on a C5 to inject FRESH Air in the exhaust manifold to speed up CAT Light of during COLD START.
The pump only runs at cold start for approx. 90 sec. It also comes on during to drive cycle when commanded by the PCM to TEST the A.I.R. system.
The things that you see on the exhaust manifold are A.I.R. CHECK VALVES that keep the exhaust gases out of the AIR System
Update-after reading some of the posts on here and the wonderful info passed along be some real smart people, i looked closer at the key fobs themselves. The one I bought had some serious solder issues. Fixed now and viola-I have keyless entry again! Thanks for all the great info on this subject!! So glad I joined. I will be leaning on you all for a lot more info if thats ok lol
