Default HID help......

Have euros & HID for 1 year, no issues..

Just had pcm replaced, may not be related, now the car chimes when the door is open without the key being in the ignition...

I think it thinks the lights are off, but the headlamp doors are up.

Normally, if I open the door & forget to flash the brights to close the headlight doors, this happen.

Today, after cleaning the lights, I turned on the lights, turned them off, flashed the brights, and they both go down, but then the drivers side one goes up....

I had to do this a few times to get them both down..

However, I still get the chime when the drivers door is open, no lights on, and no key in ignition.

Any thoughts?> Sort of annoying problem I'd like to have go away...
Like I said, it seems like the car "thinks" or senses that the headlamp doors are still up, while they are in fact down....
Anyone???
Thanks,
Ellis

I think you might have two separate issues working there. The driver side headlamp retracting and then opening could be unrelated to the other problem. There have been a lot of posts from owners experiencing this phenomonon. The light popping up on its own is usually caused by the rotating arm mechanism rotating past the nylon stop after retraction. This usually isa not hard to fix and is most often caused by the nut working loose that holds the rotating link mechanism to the headlamp motor.

I haven't a clue about the chiming with the key out of the ignition though, other than to suggest that maybe your ignition switch could be the culprit.
