I've searched the forum and internet and can't find anything about this. When shifting into 5th or 6th, if I give it gas, the shifter wobbles side to side. More going into 6th than 5th. Is this just how it is, or could something be worn or broken? I only test drove one other C5 and that was last year. I bought my 03 in May and don't remember if the 02 I test drove last year did this. My 03 has 86k miles on it.
I fell the same when shifting from 5th to 6th. If I shift with little or no additional throttle it does not happen. I have assumed this is normal but...
I'd take a look at the shifter box and bushings... the bushings get hot and crack... the bolts could have gotten loose on the box also and be letting it have some wobble...I don't think wobble is normal... at least I don't have any.

I'll check those out. It only does it when shifting into 5th or 6th and everything feels tight otherwise. I guess the term oscillates is a better term to use for description of what the shifter is doing.
