I did something special for my wife last night and took her to the Atlantis Casino here in Reno for the night. This morning the floor in the car was wet and the battery dead. Turns out the parking lot flooded during a thunderstorm and was above the bottom of the door. The battery didn't appear to be taking a charge, so I just put a new one in it. I get a no start, or even crank and the dash is flashing every thing under the sun! 2004 coupe 6spd.
The computer sits below the battery and was likely drowned. Im thinking you're going to need a new PCM, and whatever else got drowned and a lot of re-wiring. Unfortunately I think the car will be totaled if you file an insurance claim.
It allows me to pull codes, but says no PCM codes, and can't communicate with BCM or selective ride control. No courtesy lights, steering wheel won't unlock, and my truck won't open just to name a few.
Great post and thank you. I have a 1k deductible and I've filed a claim. Now you make me wonder if I should just do it myself? I've seen the BCM and it did get wet. We've had this car since new and it only has 37,000 miles on it.
Thanks for your great insights. I've resigned myself to letting someone else take care of this. Yesterday was just very depressing after working so hard for so many years to keep it nice. I have the OEM window sticker and it is a loaded Commemorative Edition coupe. I even have 2 tops for it.
This morning I went ahead and pulled out the seats and then the sopping wet carpet. I've put the seats back in temporarily. I've found the Corvette club here in Reno's website and I'm taking to a place they recommend for the computer work. What's funny is that I program 86 through 92 C4's as a hobby, but without the Tech 2 I'd rather have someone who's done it before.
Zip Corvettes has the front carpets for $329. Any comments on them?

I would check with Marc @ Vettenuts and see if I could get OEM for a little less money...
So today I put a new BCM in it after having it towed from the shop who claimed they couldn't fix it. Followed the procedure and it didn't work. I resigned myself to letting the insurance total it, so I took the new BCM out thinking I may get a portion of my $500 back, and put my old one back in and my interior lights came on. 5 minutes later it started. It still pulls codes but I think they're stored codes. How long does it take for them to go away?

Just curious since I live in Reno and have a C5 what shop could not fix your car?
When you get the car running and need any computer programming Dustin at Street and Sand 335 Kietzke Lane is where you need to take the car. He does most of the computer work on the Reno Corvette Club cars and does a good job.
8VETTE7, I just want to comment on what a wealth of information and insight you are to the C5 forum! I remember when I started looking for my car, I absorbed all the info I could by reading all your posts to make an informed and rational decision when I bought my car! Thank You!
