I bought this 99 as a stock base Corvette from a dealer. Obviously, it's not and after searching around I'm fairly confident that this is not the stock air intake on a 99 Vette. But darned if I can find a picture to match the setup.
Anyone recognize it? It looks like maybe 2 K&N cones mounted ahead of the radiator? Beyond that I don't know.

No problemo. Don't hesitate to ask. It's what "we" do.
Tip: When asking this type question, the old saying about "a picture is worth a thousand, etc, etc" is never truer. Most people here can tell you what is stock and what is not much easier with pix. At least that's true for most things. Judging from your pics thus far, you have a lot of underhood "bling" that's not stock.

Roger on the bling. The previous owner, had entered it in car shows in my state. I found where the car won a first place trophy in 2014. I'm pretty confident the exhaust is not stock. It's insanely loud with the top up, but just downright beautiful with the top down.
I might have, but I've actually grown to like the giant vacuum cleaner intake sound.
Funny you mention that... it's the one thing I'm not fond of with aftermarket open intakes, the air intake sound. I kinda like to hear my exhaust more than anything. Of course, LS engines do tend to have that sewing machine sound also, so maybe better the air intake than whir whir whir...
About a gazillion companies sold those "twin flow" setups a few years back, most cheaply made China junk.
I wholeheartedly agree, This intake setup is a POS. Imagine how confused the MAF is trying to deal with two streams of air crashing together just upstream of it. Relocating the MAF up close to the throttle body will help but this is still FAR from an optimum air intake. Kinda cool visually but sucks bigtime performance wise!
