So I broke the alternator/power steering bracket at the idler pulley on my 98 C5 LS1 so when I replaced the bracket with a newer one that is stronger. guy said it was from an 02.... but the idler pulley doesn't bolt up and I'm wondering if there is a spacer that's needed or a different idler pulley???
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have seen several Threads about certain idler pulleys that did need a spacer to work properly. May have that info at home.
I was not aware that the bracket was different between years but it could be. I would have to look at my parts listings at home to compare the years. Still, some part numbers change without dimensional differences.
Did you try and compare the broken one and the 02?
Thanks for the response.......The bolt didn't fit the diameter so we took one off of an 09 vette and it all lined up. The brackets were different from 02 up is what the corvette shop told me. Thankfully they have a number of vettes in for mods so he was able to grab me that one from the 09.
