For what it's worth, I have seen many Threads and Posts about using a Non-HUD windshield for a HUD application. I have never seen anyone say they had an issue. I have also never seen anyone swap a windshield just because they are installing a HUD.
I am sure using a HUD windshield would be better but by how much I can't say.

Sam, I have the HUD Option and if I used it a dozen times it was a lot ! When it comes time for a windshield replacement I'll go with a
Non-HUD unit.
How can you tell if it's "cheapie junk"? All glass must meet minimum dot and federal standards. I wonder how you can tell since the price doesn't always tell the story
