I have done more than one search and cant find what I am looking for.
can someone please post the vid,or instructions on how to do the ranger method flush?
thanks.
suck the fluid out of the reservoir with a turkey baster or large syringe. Then wipe out the reservoir with a paper towel. Refill the reservoir with fresh clutch fluid. Put the cap on. Pump the clutch a bunch of times then go do the same thing over again.
Do not touch the clutch pedal while the reservoir is dry.
I used a large syringe from a local farm supply store (Fleet Farm), the turkey baster can be a bit messy. I bought an '04 this past April that had pretty dirty clutch fluid (BTW, GM says Dot 3 but Dot 4 is acceptable), it had no clutch issues but this seemed like good preventative maintenance. The first time I removed and refilled with new fluid (this was the only time I wiped out the reservoir) I did it 4 or 5 times (pumping the clutch in between) then moved to doing a single remove and replace twice a week (the car is my summer daily driver) for a month and now I'm doing it every 2 weeks and the fluid continues to look quite clean.
I have used the "modified" Ranger Method and switched to DOT 4 LUCAS SYNTHETIC fluid... after probably 20 times my fluid is staying clean... just keep doing it whenever you get home from a good hard drive...takes 5 minutes....
