I have a Carravaggio (sp?) hood that came on the car, and the fitment wasn't always the greatest in the world. After seeing a few videos though, this is starting to scare me. This is at 65mph (140mph in mexico) and I have a half mile event coming up soon that I should be able to get close to 170-180. I am definitely not wanting to have my hood remove itself during a run, any ideas? Is shimming possible to help stabilize the hood or perhaps latches I should look into buying?
The hinges and such dont seem loose at all when I have popped the hood.
Might not be any help, but honestly I would send that picture to the manufacturer and ask them direct (even if you didn't buy it from them). Looks a bit scary...
Wow. Maybe there would be less issue if the rear of the hood had more airflow? Like at half unlocked or if you removed the cowl/weatherstripping? I didn't know so much air pressure built up under there. One of the reasons why the new vettes have hood vents.
